Adam & Eve Essential Toy Cleaner

Toy Cleaners are a requirement for anyone who owns a toy that can't be sterilized. Regular soaps/wipe off cleaners can leave a residue on your
toy, something you definitely want to avoid. And for those of us,
myself included, that just want to pass out after sex, the idea of
running to the bathroom to clean your dildo/vibrator/cock ring is
daunting. This is where a wipe off toy cleaner really shines. A towel,
the cleaner, the toy. Spray it on, wipe it off, and you're left with a
clean toy and can roll over and proceed to passing out. What's not to
love, right?

The fact that Disodium EDTA is the second ingredient in this toy
cleaner makes me a little nervous. Granted, I want my toys clean, but
the sketchy information surrounding it always concerns me. I have other
cleaners that list EDTA, but usually as a much later ingredient. The
fact it's been linked as being both Genotoxic and Cytotoxic- It's
enough to make me worry. Granted, it's an organic compound, but I'd
still rather avoid it. Okay, enough science for one review.

The bottle works well enough. It's a simple pump bottle. After a
particularly long play session, I had quite a pile of toys to clean. I
tend to get picky and change my mind about what sort of sensation I
want, so I tend to use a lot of different types of toys. This cleaner
worked very well on metal & glass. It was when I got to my
silicone, TPR, and TPR silicone toys this cleaner started to let me
down. It seemed like I was using way more cleaner than I should. The
smell was also terrible. I can't describe it, but it reminds me of
dust. It just has an old smell to it. Now I don't necessarily need flower scented dildos, but the smell of this was just offensive.

Now does it work as a toy cleaner? Technically, yes. My toys were
clean, had no residue left, and didn't smell funky after a week (a tell
tale sign with porous toys that you missed a spot or the cleaner didn't
quite clean). Would I want to use this cleaner again? No. The smell and
the fact it seemed to take twice the amount of cleaner as another wipe
off cleaner makes this a Skip It in my book.
