The Movie:
The first title in the 'Guys Gone Wild' series was released in two editions: a regular retail version that can be found at mainstream DVD stores, and later on in a special "Deluxe Edition" containing 15 minutes of bonus footage, that could only be ordered from specialty retailers willing to carry a more risque version. This "Deluxe Edition" was recently repackaged as the "Platinum Edition" with a slight artwork change to better differentiate it from the normal version found in most stores. There is no content difference between the "Deluxe" and renamed "Platinum" editions.

'Guys Gone Wild' is brought to you by the same people who make all the 'Girls Gone Wild' DVDs, and follows a similar formula. Instead of filming drunk college girls flashing their body parts during Spring Break, here we get drunk college guys during Spring Break showing every inch of their manhood for the camera. Instead of a male film crew encouraging the girls to strip, here we get an off-screen female camera crew enticing the guys to show off for them. Like the 'Girls' series, this first 'Guys' title consists of a mix of longer segments focusing on one guy or group of guys, intercut with short "partying" shots of college guys flexing or exposing themselves for the camera (the male equivalent of the "show me your tits" shots). There are dozens of young guys in total, many of who have nice college jock bods, although there are a few guys that could stand to hit the gym. The segments include scenes of guys in hotel rooms, on the beach, and showing off in a special 'Girls Gone Wild' room. The guys perform everything from stripteases to streaking through hallways to naked football to most uniquely, a naked ring toss game involving a penis, often for nothing more than a 'Guys Gone Wild' baseball cap as a reward. Surprisingly, many of the guys are happy to get naked together, as long as they are doing it for the girls. Of course, many of the guys are giggling and practically falling over the whole time, clearly under the influence of a bit too much alcohol.

The DVD:

Video:
This DVD is in full-frame, befitting its direct-to-video nature. The video quality is overall quite clear, although occasionally, there is a bit of excessive lighting which washes out flesh tone, something that likely could not be helped due to the "live" and spontaneous nature of the filming. Detail is adequate, and seems best in the scenes set in hotel rooms, where the lighting and other conditions could probably be more carefully controlled by the film crew.

Audio:
There are two selectable audio tracks, a Dolby Digital 5.1 track and a 2.0 Stereo track. The audio consists mainly of guys laughing and talking, with some background rock style music in some segments. There are often many background voices and multiple people talking at once. Both audio tracks do a good job of allowing us to hear everything clearly, even when multiple people are talking at once. It is as easy to understand the various voices as if you were really there.

Extras:
Other than a scene selection feature, the only Extra is the 15-minutes worth of "Bonus Footage" which differentiates this Deluxe/Platinum edition from the normal retail version. This footage contains an extended segment with a hot 19-year-old guy displaying his impressive 8 inch erect penis which gets the female film crew totally gaga, fawning over him (and it). The guy talks about his sexual escapades and shows off how wide his penis is by showing how the bracelet taken off one girl's wrist won't even fit around the penis. This is followed by a short segment with a toned college jock boy streaking down a hotel hallway, then a longer segment with a barely legal-looking boy naked in bed stroking his penis while he talks with the female film crew about his manhood. This is followed by several shorter segments with other guys, that really are not all that different from the action shown in the main feature.

Final Thoughts:
The guys in this video are "real" college boys on Spring Break, which is a lot of the appeal behind this title. Unlike an adult video, the guys here are not performing sexual acts, but rather showing off their bodies for the camera. They shake their butt cheeks, flex their biceps, measure their penises, and do naked pushups just to impress the female film crew (who we never see but hear off-camera encouraging the guys). There are lots of bouncing penises, although in the main feature, the guys are never shown with erections except for the naked ring toss segment, which necessitated an erect 7.5" penis (they measured) to toss the rings onto. For a bit more of an amateur solo adult video feel, you have to turn to the bonus footage, which contains some scenes "too hardcore" for the normal version. If you are going to get this title at all, it is worth the few extra bucks for the Deluxe/Platinum Edition, as the bonus footage contains the most "exciting" action, but if you already own the normal version, it is probably not worth upgrading to the Deluxe/Platinum version. We should note that all but one guy in the video is Caucasian, so those seeking some diversity won't find it here. We also wish the main feature was a bit longer, as it only runs 50 minutes. Still, overall, this is a slick, professionally produced, fun disc that gets you in the Spring Break party spirit, and is recommended for any girls or gay men who are interested in watching drunk college boys getting naked for the camera, while retaining more acceptability to throw on at a party than a normal adult-oriented title.
