Men's Fashion At the Golden Globes, Our Take

Last night, Hollywood came to play! It was an all-star bash as the Golden Globes presented the first award show of the year and its 82 anniversary. The celebs were ready to party and it was clear the champagne was flowing. New host, Nikki Glaser, made history as the first solo female emcee. She was extremely hit-and-miss, some jokes had us rolling laughing and some were dad jokes that should have stayed in the writer's trash. The presenter's banter was beyond terrible. But, in all, the night was just a lot of fun and everyone seemed to be having a good time. Some of the tech was off regarding graphics and sound, but no one seemed to care. We were really surprised that Wicked walked away empty-handed. Fashion-wise, someone must have sent a memo because many of the leading women were in retro styles - from hair and makeup to outfits, it was glam from the 60s and 70s and they looked beyond amazing. For the men? Girl. WTF. Many of the male celebs didn't wear ties and there were a few major misses. Men's fashion at this year's Golden Globes was not in any danger of winning any awards. Here's our sassy take on some of the male outfits from last night.

Glen Powell

Glen is one of our favorite Hollywood studs. He is quickly on his way to becoming an A-lister. He is such a stud that he can barely do any wrong in our book but...his outfit. As with many of the men, he did away with the tie. This look should have been chic but it comes across like an after-prom mess. He looks like that douche that pours rum into the punch bowl at a bar mitzvah. His look comes across sloppy and like an outfit he rented from Men's Wearhouse. Girl, you are a stud...do better!

Sebastian Stan

Sebastian won his first Golden Globe for his role in A Different Man. We wish he would have worn a different outfit. The intention is cool, we love being a bit different on the red carpet. But the cut is not tight and it looks like an extra's outfit from Wicked or an outfit an usher would wear at Disneyland's The Haunted House. Oy.

Colin Farrell

Hot damn, can Colin Farrell get any hotter? This guy just gets more and more handsome. He took home the Golden Globe for his amazing turn in HBO Max's The Penguin. Among the male outfits at The Golden Globes, he topped the fashion list. He looked classy while dressing outside of the box.

Morris Chestnut

We are undecided about this Golden Globes outfit. We love a guy who is bold and strives to be different on the red carpet. This look is bold, indeed. We aren't so sure about the color choice or the monochromatic presentation. Maybe a brooch or lapel pin would have added that needed touch?

Kieran Culkin

Kieran, we think you are super hot but at the Golden Globes? Eff, no! Show some respect for the ceremony. No jacket? No tie? Rolled up sleeves? And, on top of that, his acceptance speech was a total bomb. He just came across like a privileged brat.

The Rock

Just like Glen Powell, Dwayne Johnson came across as looking like a prom douche. Shiny material, cheesy chain, unbuttoned shirt, and wide lapel? Not a win here, sorry boo.

Colman Domingo

This guy has always been the epitome of fashion. He ties with Colin Farrell for the best male outfits at the Golden Globes. Style, elegance, and flair, all together in one outfit. This is the dressing outside the box that we love.

Jeremy Strong

We only have three letters for Jeremy's outfit. WTF.

Richard Gadd

This is elegance and style all in one. If you are going to do monochromatic at the Golden Globes, this is how to do it. A lapel pin or brooch ties it all together. We love this outfit and way to rep the bisexuals!

Hiroyuki Sanada

Hiroyuki has been in over 70 films, has two Emmys, and took home his first Golden Globe last night. This is classic men's fashion with a touch of velvet to make it pop. His outfit is award-winning!

Adrien Brody

Claps all around for this Golden Globe outfit. Simple and sleek with a vest, a throwback to the golden days of Hollywood. We love this look.

Paul Downs

Wide, classic, shiny lapel? We love this vintage look. Again, the lapel pin makes all the difference. We love.

Jeff Goldblum

While we appreciate the shoutout for his role in Wicked, Jeff's outfit was a miss for us. It looks like he should be opening for some Vegas act. There's a classy way to be funky, this isn't it.
