Improve Your Sex Life with Your Partner, Talk About Finances!

So, at what point do you talk about finances with your partner? It's not really a sexy topic, but as your relationship grows it will need to be addressed at some point. A study conducted by Personal Capital found that 44% of US millennials avoid talking about money with their partners. Talking about money has been found to be more taboo than talking about sex. But talking about finances can actually improve your sex life.

Talking about money can help reduce life stress. Once you have a goal together, create a budget, and plan for the future, that stress about worrying about money can be alleviated. Once that stress goes away, you are more apt to feel in the mood and your body parts are more likely to function properly. Some partners keep financial secrets from their partners or are hiding a bad credit score or a bankruptcy. If you are planning on buying a house or car together, this will definitely come up. Once you are honest and open with your man, you build trust and feel a strong partnership, and that in turn can build intimacy, also improving your sex life. Talking about money will make it easier to talk about other difficult things in life. Once the communication starts flowing, you can talk about what you things that you want to try in the bedroom, or things that aren't working for you in the bedroom, and boom! Your sex life is getting spicier. If you feel that you are always the one putting down your credit card for dinner or trips, talking about money and coming up with a clear spending plan and who pays for what can cut down on resentment. Resentment can keep you from wanting to sleep with your guy. Dealing with those money issues leaves extra time to explore other aspects of your relationship, especially your sex life.

Come up with a budget and align how much you are spending, how much you are saving, and what you want to save towards. Does your partner want to save for the Italy vacation while you want to save up for a down payment? Do you want to pay for 10 streaming services and he just wants to watch YouTube? Do you spend hundreds of dollars at the clubs for drinks and your partner is done after two drinks? Talk about it and come up with a compromise and clear plan. Then you know exactly where you want your money to go. Put in a budget for sex toys or other naughty ventures, this will spice up your sex life too. Also, when you talk honestly about your money situation, this can help guard against financial surprises like a credit card company coming around for an unpaid credit card from two years ago, or the IRS wanting their taxes from three years ago. Also, if you both work towards savings, this can help with unexpected money issues. Coming up with a plan can also keep both of you accountable. If your partner tends to bring up tons of unneeded stuff from Target every time he goes, or if you tend to spend $300 on a whim on shoes that you never wear, this will hold you both accountable. If you maintain your money goals for the week or month, bring in your sex life and reward yourselves with some naughty acts and times.

Money may not be the sexiest thing, but as a relationship evolves, issues such as money can stall your energy and interest in the bedroom, especially as you get older, and money plays a big part in life security. Taking care of this can add some spark back into your sex life, especially if you add some sexual rewards into the mix.
