This week, we’re getting up close and personal with the sexy Luís Eduardo! Luís is an amazing dancer from here in Los Angeles! Luis Eduardo.

How did you get your name:

It is my birth name. Even though it's a thing for go-go’s and pornstars to change their names, I did not want to do that. I genuinely love my name. It speaks to my Spanish descent and it sounds like the name of a star from a Novela (Spanish soap opera).

When did you start go-go dancing and what got you into it:

The first go-go gig I had was at Trunks at 22 years old. October of 2012. I found the gig through a posting on Craigslist. After a couple of months, Trunks discontinued having go-go’s. It was at Trunks where I became acquainted with a fellow go-go dancer who you might know, Dante Martin, and years later, he helped me get back into it. Fast forward to February 2022. I ran into Dante at Revolver one night while he was go-go dancing at Revolver and Dante let me know his manager was looking for dancers and asked me if I would be interested. That’s how it started. I did my first gig back into the scene on April 1, 2022, at Alibi East in Pomona. I have been lucky enough to grow and work at many other places.

Favorite styles of music and artists to dance to:

I love pop music. I’m a raver so I absolutely love EDM, House, and Techno. My favorite DJ is Vintage Culture. I grew up on Britney Spears so prepare for a performance if any of her jams come on. I love Megan Thee Stallion but don’t play “W.A.P.”

Favorite thing to wear while dancing:

I love wearing my NeonCowboy hat. It's a cowboy hat that lights up. I originally bought them for when I go to festivals and raves. They have now become part of my signature lewks.

Favorite part of your body:

I would have to say my eyes. I inherited them from my mother. The family jewels. After that, I would have to say my legs.

Your signature dance move:

My shuffling and raver dance moves.

Your biggest pet peeve when people are tipping you:

Customers trying to take their money back when I stop their advances to touch me inappropriately.

Your biggest pet peeve about working with other go-go boys:

Arrogant and impolite attitudes. I despise when go-go dancers leave their unfinished drinks everywhere. Whether it's alcohol or water bottles. Water bottles are worst because most of the time they are provided by the venue and for the water to go unfinished, or not thrown into the trash is rude and inconsiderate.

What advice would you give to a new go-go dancer?

Respect the job! Respect yourself! Respect the staff and customers! It is serious work. Many do not last. It is a privilege to be selected. Be kind to yourself. Do not compare yourself to others. Remember just because you’re now on a box, don't forget that once you weren’t. Think of the other boys or they won’t think of you.

Favorite thing about being a go-go boy:

Every night, I'm fulfilling a dream. Every gig I work is a dream manifested. I love meeting all the people in my community! It is such a privilege to get paid to do what I love.
