It’s time for a brand-new episode of my podcast Hey Gurl! With Jordan Jayro! Yay! This week’s guest is a legendary wig stylist and drag queen! It’s Fena Barbitall! I’ve always known of Fena through her affiliation with Trixie and Katya. I finally got to meet Fena last summer when we did a brunch show together and we immediately hit it off! I hopped into my Honda Civic and drove out to Fena’s Los Angeles home to record this episode! We had such a great time chatting, and I’m so glad to finally be sharing it with you!

This episode began like any other great podcast: talking about butts. This time I talked about how I was confronted with an ad for hemorrhoid pills. I didn’t even know there was a such thing! An over-the-counter medication to treat hemorrhoids?! How fun! But also, why is the algorithm presenting this to me? Is my phone trying to tell me something? This is especially weird because I have been the receptive partner recently, and the thought of hemorrhoids has crossed my mind. I’m always fearful of getting one, because they are extremely painful. But I never searched it or talked about it. I only thought about hemorrhoids. But I was still shown the ad for the hemorrhoid pills! Does anyone know why this is happening?

Fena and I bonded over being queens who mostly top. She talked about a previous relationship where she was primarily the top in the relationship. We also bonded over shaving our brows. We both also wear tattoo brows during the daytime. They’re so unclockable and gorgeous! It’s literally the perfect brow on a page and you can just cut it out and put it on! No plucking necessary! We both agreed that not having brows makes makeup so much easier. Everyone should try it!

Not long after came the conversation about Botox. Fena is no stranger to a little bit of Botox and filler. I talked about wanting to get my face done. I mainly want Botox to prevent wrinkles and sweating. I would also love a little bit of filler at some point. Maybe some jaw and some cheek filler. Fena did share a lot about her experience with lip filler and Botox. I learned a lot about cosmetic injections from hearing Fena talk about it.

I couldn’t leave Fena Barbitall’s apartment without asking her about working with Trixie and Katya. She talked about knowing Katya from Boston and moving to LA after she got back from Drag Race. Since then Fena has traveled with both Trixie and Katya and has assisted them both together and separately. I remember seeing Fena at Trixie’s live show, and even popping up on Unhhhh. She is also responsible for all of Katya’s most iconic hairdos! Hit her up if you need a fierce wig made!
