Troye Sivan’s Video for New Song ‘Rush’ is Hot AF and the Song Is a Bop!!!

One of my favorite artists of the last decade is decidedly Troye Sivan. He's not only a great musician, but is also a great actor, and a stunning model, as well. And all of that comes together perfectly in the video for his new single "Rush". Sivan teased us with a NSFW video leading up to the song's official release which was on July 13th, and now we have the whole thing.

The "Rush" video opens with a closeup of a guy leaning over a railing and smacking his already reddened, bare ass; it almost startled me how hot it was as an opening to a video. As the video pans out, we see a bevy of some of the most stunning Queer people imaginable enjoying a pool party. They're drinking bougie beers in gorgeous labels, and smoking from pipes they probably got on some badass world travel; Sivan is painting a stunning picture here.

Directed by Gordon von Steiner and with cinematography by Stuart Winecoff (both of whom are also absolutely gorgeous), the video features some really beautiful choreography. The beautiful people throughout the video move flawlessly and bring you into this hedonistic party of Queer joy.

And what about the title of the song? "Rush" is obviously a reference to the feeling one gets from the sexual hunt that Sivan is singing about, and the euphoria we get from living our best, Queer lives. But you may be asking yourself, "Wait a minute... isn't Rush also the name of a very famous brand of poppers?" Why, yes. Yes, it is. And to be very clear, that's no coincidence. Sivan confirmed as much in an interview with GQ. He also dove into how this album is a celebration of his love of life, as well as his absolute love of sex. "I just love people," he told the magazine. "And I love community, and sex…. I really, really love to party." One of my favorite moments of his love of the party comes when he, a shirtless Sivan, is lifted up for a kegstand, and he takes it down the hatch like a champ, never breaking eye contact with the gorgeous trade in front of him, sliding the tap into his mouth. Oof. What a rush.

Their album is also a celebration of the fact that some of the most amazing intimate moments are often found outside of long-term relationships. "Whether it’s a one-night stand, or someone that you meet for 10 minutes at a club, or somebody you end up dating for like a couple of weeks." I've often said that I think I might be destined to have a number of "romantic vignettes" in my life, versus one long-term partner, and so I love that aspect to Sivan's album. It's one of the many reasons I adore him as an artist.
