Hollywood News & Movie Gossip: More Ghostbusters, Sherlock Holmes, Venom, and Fast & Furious…and some Wicked leaks!

I’m your Gay News Guy – this is the news, casual, sassy, unfiltered, and a little tipsy. Ok here’s today’s MOVIE news as I see it!

Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters 2: Afterlife has started filming! It’s the sequel…no not that sequel, it’s the sequel to the reboot. No, not that reboot. Sigh. Anyway…it is not confirmed if Bill Murray or Dan Akroyd will be returning, BUT pictures have surfaced of original Ghostbuster Ernie Hudson back for more. The original cast from the reboot…no, no that reboot…will be returning, including our crush Paul Rudd. I, for one, am one of the only moviegoers who LOVED the female-driven reboot. Everyone gagged themselves over the Afterlife reboot of Ghostbusters. I thought it was okay. Just okay.

Robert Downey Jr’s Sherlock Holmes 3 seems to be back on the front burner if recent podcast comments are to be believed. Robert needs something major since all we really got after Avengers was Dr. Doolittle. OY. How about Dr. DontDoItAgain?

Pictures have started coming out from the set of the film adaptation of Wicked starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. Some audio was leaked of Ariana as Glinda…it seemed very slowwwww. Well, they are turning the musical into two films so maybe they have to sing slower to stretch it out. In other casting, Michelle Yeoh will play Madame Morrible and Jeff Goldblum will appear as the Wizard of Oz. Will the original stars, Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel, make a cameo? Kristin was asked that very question on a recent red carpet and she just kind of winked. So….maybe?

Bad Boys 4 is coming and star Martin Lawrence (co-starring Will Smith) says it’s going to be the best one yet! Funny, I don’t remember ever seeing a Bad Boys 3. Will Chris Rock play the villain?

Venom 3 is happening. WHYYYYY? I swear to god if Tom Hardy isn’t shirtless or pantless…WHY BOTHER?

How fast they fall! Everyone has been drooling lately over actor Jonathan Majors (Ant-man, Lovecraft Country)…until this week. He was arrested on alleged abuse claims, with more people coming forward after his arrest. He is set to be a major part of the future Avenger films…so no clue how this is going to turn out.

Wait, I thought Fast & Furious was going to be over after Fast & Furious X. Nope, Fast & Furious 11 is a go! How about Fast & Furious: The Golden Girls?

Fun fact: Did you know that Al Pacino was offered gobs of money to play Han Solo in Star Wars? I can’t even imagine. “Say hello to my little friend…Yoda!”
