I’m your Gay News Guy – this is the news, casual, sassy, unfiltered, and a little tipsy. Ok here’s today’s MOVIE news as I see it!

Guess what action star is joining the cast of Fast X, the 10th film of the Fast and Furious franchise? She will be starring alongside the likes of Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Charlize Theron, Jason Momoa, Brie Larson, J Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Jason Statham, and my boyfriend John Cena…Rita Moreno!? Huh? Yes, indeed…she will be playing sassy Grams to Vin Diesel. She’ll whoop your ass and sing a showtune at the same time. Fast X will be setting the scene for Fast and Furious 11 – the supposed finale of the franchise that will be told in a two-parter. So Fast and Furious 11 B? We also know Hollywood doesn’t let things go…who will star in the Fast and Furious reboot?!?

Of course, we love our bears…more cushion for the pushin’. BUT, you may have to wait a bit longer for Paddington 3. The surprisingly popular movie franchise has gone silent. Star (and fellow gay) Ben Whishaw says he has not seen a script, hasn’t received any timeline, and really hasn’t heard from anyone. Not sure if this is still happening. Excuse me while I go cry into my honey pot.

Gurrlll…ready for a 9 to 5 sequel? Sorry to burst your gay bubble, nothing is in the works. BUT, Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda are teaming up AGAIN to star in Moving On, a comedy about two women planning a revenge murder. The trailer just dropped and it looks hilarious. These two have been doing so much together, from Grace and Frankie and now the 80 For Brady. When do these girls sleep? Do they just sleep in bunk beds at this point? And they look FABULOUS!

Dinosaurs are back! No, it’s not happy hour at The Eagle…and no, thank god, it’s not more Jurassic Park. BUT! Hottie Adam Driver will be fighting off the dinos in the new sci-fi flick 65, where he plays an astronaut who lands on a planet filled with prehistoric creatures. Maybe in the sequel, he will land on Uranus. (Cheap joke, I know…what do expect? I’m two martinis in.)

Is Harry Potter ready for a reboot? Rumors are swirling that plans are being made for more Potter. What that will look like? No one knows. AND the franchise has become a bit tarnished because of author J.K. Rowling’s attacks on the trans community. Star Rupert Grint says he’s up for it, and that maybe it would work as a TV series. Girl…he has to pay rent!

Some of you youngins might not remember Dirty Dancing…but it’s coming back! Original star Jennifer Grey says a script has been in development and that the story would center around her character, Baby, a new love interest, and members of her family. Fans think Harry Styles would be a good candidate for the love interest…um, would Jennifer Grey play his grandmother? Derp! Jennifer stated that Patrick Swayze’s character would not be recast. I would LOVE to see this as an '80s period piece with that music and dancing.

Dishing on sequels, is Forrest Gump 2 happening? Well, kind of. Gump stars Tom Hanks and Robin Wright will join forces with Robert Zemeckis once again for an adaptation of a graphic novel that deals with a character bouncing around time and space. AI will be used to youngify (yes, I just made that word up) Tom and Robin. Before we get all excited, remember what we got last time Hanks and Zemeckis got together – we got the live-action Pinocchio. Bleah!

OMG – if you haven’t seen A Simple Favor with Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick, do yourself a gay favor and WATCH IT NOW. Martinis, fabulous outfits, sassy one-liners, sexy men, twin swapping, and murder all abound in this delicious movie. It’s like a modern-day bad Bette Davis film. Well, it is getting a sequel!!! Won’t spoil the first movie with details…just go watch it. NOW.

Is Clueless coming back? Rumors, we love our rumors, abound that the movie might be up for a sequel. To add to the rumors, Alicia Silverstone was seen in her iconic yellow outfit recreating another scene from the film.

Bad Boys 4 is happening, and Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are back. Are we over Will Smith’s behavior at the Oscars? Maybe I’ll just wait for the porn version.

What the hell is happening with Batman? How many Batmans do we need? Rob Pattinson’s The Batman is confirmed that it will be a trilogy…with The Batman II on the way and a third in development. It will also spin off a Penguin HBO series with Colin Farrell. BUT the new DC Universe head honcho, James Gunn, said it will not be part of the DC Universe. Huh???

In gay movie news, M3gan was such a big hit a sequel is already greenlit. Yaass, queen…you slay. Literally.
