The Hot (Naked) Men of HBO Max’s Porn Comedy “Minx”

I think pretty much every gay man in America thought he’d found his favorite new show with last year’s bitchy satire Hacks, which stars Jean Smart as a Joan Rivers-type comedienne. Pretty gay, right?

That changed last week with the premiere of another HBO Max show: Minx.

This period comedy/drama explores the creation of the first erotic magazine aimed at women. Though they don’t directly reference it, it’s clear that the magazine is supposed to be based on Playgirl. We also know that over 60 percent of Playgirl’s audience is us GAYS!

I think the same goes for the audience of this fun and sexy new show.  We’re enjoying it for its wit, laughs, and solid performances, but what is our favorite part of all? All the hot as fuck guys it has walking around naked!

Let’s look at some of the Men of Minx

Taylor Zakhar Perez

Before he started playing Minx’s first centerfold, this muscly cutie was much more clean-cut playing a lovestruck teen on the romantic comedy series The Kissing Booth. He was also a nationally ranked swimmer. We’re happy he’s finally come into his own playing the kind of role he was clearly born to play: a dumb fireman turned naked model.

Jake Johnson

Johnson plays Doug, the sharp publisher (and pornographer) who co-creates the magazine with leading lady Joyce (Ophelia Lovibond). Before Minx, Jake was Zoey Deschanel’s love interest on New Girl. There’s something just so sexy about a guy who recognizes a brilliant woman, and a marketable penis.

Michael Angarano

Michael plays Joyce’s misogynist ex-husband who tries to stop her from creating the magazine of her (and our) dreams. We would really hate him if he didn’t look so darn cute in those '70s suits. Before this series we knew Michael for recurring roles on This is Us and Will and Grace.

Burt Reynolds

The late A-Lister’s notorious spread in Cosmopolitan plays a critical role in the second episode of the first season. It reminds us what an impact that one photo had on bringing male erotica to the masses. It also reminds us what a hot bear Reynolds was!

Oscar Montoya

Speaking of sexy bears, Oscar Montoya plays Richie, the newly out gay photographer who has the amazing job of photographing naked guys. Where do we sign up? But back to Oscar, he has that cute nerdy bear who sends good morning and good night texts and plenty of sexts in-between.
