Where Are They Now: Tyler Saint Talks His Prolific Time in Porn, Maintaining His Body & Reinventing Himself on OnlyFans

Tyler's journey in the industry is especially impressive since he didn't start in the business until he was over 40 and yet he held his own with scene partners in their twenties. He joined Cybersocket for an interview to discuss what brought him to the business, what it was like performing, and how happy he is today.

Could you share with us your journey to first joining the industry and then becoming a star?
I have used my body as a source of income since I was in my early twenties. I have always had a lean body type, however, I was not overly muscular by any means. I discovered the gym and testosterone with a boyfriend that I had at the time. He taught me to build my body and eat correctly. That particular boyfriend was a male burlesque dancer in the late '70s into the '80s. He taught me not only to build my body, but he taught me how to dance and perform. Back in that time, there were no go-go dancers. We performed as an advertised headliner—much like a Chippendales style set. I drove thousands of miles and performed in dozens and dozens of clubs all over the Northeast. I became a very popular performer and was pretty well known for that. The burlesque dancing lasted for a few years until go-go dancing became popular. It was an easy transition from one to the other. I worked in all the major clubs in NYC and the Tristate area. I continued to do this until I was about 36. I met someone and decided to retire from dancing.

What did you do in between dancing and porn?
I think I stopped dancing in the spring of 1999. I was living in Southern Connecticut. I was dating someone from NYC and decided to move in with him and stop dancing. I did however keep a bartending job I had on Friday nights in New Haven. The relationship lasted 3 years. During that time, I worked in a major hotel chain near Times Square as an accountant. I met another boyfriend and about a year into it, we decided to leave the East Coast for California. I did not have a job when we moved but ended up landing a job managing a restaurant in a high-end spa in West Hollywood. The spa was frequented by many celebrities. I befriended Joanna Shimpkus, who was Sidney Poitier's wife. She had a redesign firm and asked if I knew anyone who liked to clean. From that point on I gathered a crew and became her cleaning crew. We cleaned huge homes in Beverly Hills and the surrounding area after they were remodeled and before the move-in. I was doing that as well as the restaurant job until I started doing porn. I’ve somehow always managed to have employment.

You started in the business relatively later than most big stars. Any reason why? What took you so long?
I was completely removed from the performing industry (dancing) for several years. One day while working out at Golds Gym in Hollywood, I was approached by an individual who asked me if I had ever thought about doing any “adult” film work. I was flattered but declined. He handed me his card and said to contact him if I changed my mind. It was probably a week later, after thinking about all the fun I had dancing, that I contacted him to see what he had in mind. A week later, I was co-starring with Eddie Stone in my first feature film. The rest is history.

Once you did enter the industry you became a prolific performer, working in all kinds of scenes and for all the different studios. How do some compare with others?
Studio work in its heyday was very strenuous. Shoots could take several days to film and required many hours of being “up” and ready to go. Some studios had large supporting crews–cameramen, director, sound, assistants, etc. Performing in front of so many people took eroticism out of the equation. It was fun, don’t get me wrong—I had sex with some of the hottest men on the planet—but I became numb to sex for a long time. Each studio I worked with, had its own specific ways of filming, which meant having specific mindsets associated with them. Some were easier than others and some were perfectionists, which resulted in acting scenes over and over until they were “right”. In any case, I always was treated with respect and professionalism.

What was your favorite scene and why? 
I have had hundreds of scenes over a long period of time doing porn. I would have to say the favorite scene that comes to mind was Trunks 5 filmed in Palm Springs in 2008, for Hot House. It was my first bottoming scene on film, after being a top for all my previous scenes. I was paired with the hot Ross Hurston, who was a Hot House exclusive. The passion and connection we had were amazing which made for an effortless scene. I can honestly say, I have never had a scene partner that I did not have some sort of connection with. The porn family is very compassionate and loving.

Who were some of your favorite fellow performers and why? Still in touch with any?
I have been away from the industry for over 8 years. I keep in contact thru social media with several scene partners. As for favorites, it is hard to put one partner over another—I get something positive and different from each scene and scene partner.

Anybody you didn't work with, but wish you had?
My all-time porn crush was Jon King. I sadly never got to meet him. In my opinion, he exuded sex!

You have been a success in both the studio world and the OnlyFans world. How do they compare? Which do you prefer?
Content is content, whether it be with a studio or OnlyFans. OnlyFans is a challenge as it requires coordination with other content creators to get together to film. With a studio, it is all planned for me. I do, however, like the freedom to have sex the way I want to versus how someone else wants it. I also like the “real feel” of OnlyFans. Studio porn generally has the same formula: suck, rim, fuck, cum. Blah Blah Blah. I find that non-studio content is more organic and free-flowing—making it more realistic and believable.

How are you today? Where are you at in your career and in life?
I am at a great time in my life. I am married to a very loving, understanding, and nonjudgmental husband, who actually is as involved in this OnlyFan’s journey as I am. We always perform together and make sure we are both comfortable with all sexual situations. He dabbled in porn before we knew each other with the name Ace Banner. He is my partner in crime and my ride or die. I recently quit my stable, well-paying job to follow my dream of completing college. I can honestly say, being a student in my 50s is much harder than when I was a kid. I am in my second semester and doing very well. Hopefully, I can become a Physical Therapist before retirement age! LOL.

You've maintained your body and your ability to deliver great performances for many years now. A great achievement. How would you compare being a more mature performer with the younger up and comers?
I have always been very particular about how my body looks. It is harder as I get older to maintain the muscle tone and lean body I had years ago. I make sure I hit the gym at least 5 times a week, and eat as clean as I can. It seems that the older generation has come into its own with an interest in hot daddies. I feel that there is a sexual interest and sexual type for everyone. Older guys are in as much demand as twinks! If I had to give a younger performer some advice it would be to stay humble. Arrogance is a huge turn-off and gets tiresome very fast. There is always someone younger and hotter to take your place.

Do you follow the industry today? Do any of today's performers impress you?
I really am quite removed from the industry aside from the online Fans pages. I am impressed how older porn actors have reinvented themselves and have stayed relevant and popular. Fans pages have allowed people to express themselves more easily and efficiently now, then in the studio days.

Would you ever consider a comeback? 
No one wants to see geriatric porn, do they?  My favorite part about where I am now is hearing from younger fans who have told me that I gave them the courage to come out. I get messages on a daily basis thanking me for being a role model to them. I don’t know how much of a role model I am, but I do try to live my life honestly and openly.
