Next Door Taboo's scene featuring Johnny B coming on to his step brother Dalton Riley a little too hard hits too close to home.

If you watch any amount of porn these days, gay or straight, you're probably accustomed to some element of coercion. Someone is like, minding their own business, someone "seduces" them or "convinces" them of something, and off they go to have sex.

Actually, no, I take it back - now that I think about it, isn't this the plot of most romantic movies too? Guy like a girl, she is standoffish, she finally gives in and he gets his girl.

It's almost as if society tells the dominant partner in a relationship that all they need to do is convince their partner into fucking. And when that doesn't work? Force yourself onto them.

And that's how Next Door Taboo's latest scene feels. Johnny B basically forces himself onto step-brother Dalton Riley when Dalton repeatedly refuses.

Full disclosure, I have been raped. Twice. No need for Sorry - a lot of therapy involved.And I know I'm not the only one out there who has, so we can't brush something like this under the rug or blow these issues off.

Why couldn't they have shot this scene without these uncomfortable parts?

The actual sex looks fine?

Now, the bio doesn't sound too bad. When you read it from Next Door Taboo, it sounds fairly normal:

For step-brothers Johnny B and Dalton Riley, life is still an adjustment. Still getting used to each other's presence since their parents married, they don't really know that much about each other. For instance, Dalton doesn't realize that Johnny is gay, but he's about to find out how serious Johnny really is. Dalton has never considered being with another guy before, much less his step-brother, but when Johnny persists, Dalton finds himself suddenly tempted by the allure of some family fun.

But then you watch it, and it's a different story. There's the coercive element we're all pretty accustomed to, but then it gets to the point where Johnny B FORCIBLY kisses Dalton, and that's when I turned it off. Coercion is debatably hot, but this is not. There is nothing sexier than when 2 people are into each other and doing it.

Now that that's out of the way, here are some less...coercive scenes to watch:

Because I know what you're probably thinking: If this isn't hot, why not write about something that is? Why not bring awareness to other scenes?

Well, just like saying "I don't see color," ignoring issues doesn't bring awareness to them - it only maintains the status quo. You must talk about issues to bring awareness to them, uncomfortable as they may seem.

And just like I talk about the disparity of Black Men being seen as aggressors in gay porn, and highlighting with joy when we get to bottom, I'll start bringing awareness to this too.
