Michael B. Jordan Looks Sexy AF In His Latest Magazine Spread

CELEBRITY

Still coming off his high from Black Panther, one of the most successful films in history, Michael B. Jordan sat down with Men's Health to talk about his workout routine (yes, gawd!) and how he almost didn't take on the role at all. That one may be a little tricky. After all, you can't rely on just any role to follow Erik Killmonger.

The path to Black Panther wasn't an easy one, though. According to Michael, he wasn't sure if the Killmonger role was right for him.

"I was cautious. I wasn't exactly sure if I wanted to play an authority figure due to the relationship between my community and the police," he said. It was important to remain conscious of the fact that his decision to take on the role could potentially have a negative impact on how moviegoers saw his character, especially in the current times we live in. In the end, though, something tells me there are zero regrets on Michael's end. Maybe it's the fame, or maybe it's the money. Hell maybe it's the chiseled body he got while working on the film (I know we're not complaining).

To get the perfect Killmonger body, Michael used a series of classic workouts in order to add a layer of muscle to his chest and arms. It wasn't easy. When he first started working out to gain muscle, he "could barely push 25 pounds," recalls Corey Calliet, Michael's trainer. "By the time we got to Black Panther, he was doing 115-pound dumbbells." A few times, the actor went as high as 315 pounds total.

The 31-year-old actor is currently working on Creed II, the sequel to the hit 2015 boxing film. Since he's going from one of Wakanda's fiercest badasses to playing the offspring of Apollo Creed, there's little doubt that we will see a not-so-ripped version of Michael anytime soon.
