The Industry Perspective: Alvaro, from Stylist to Top Producer at MenAtPlay

In his very first public interview, the producer shares how he got here.

How has 2024 been for MenAtPlay? What is the latest at that studio?

2024 has been one of the best years in the history of MenAtPlay. We are releasing a full set of hot stories with the top performers in the industry at the moment. We also have a few original series coming up in 2025.

How did you first come to the world of pornography?

I started in 2019 as a stylist with MenAtPlay, never doing anything porn related before, it was a great opportunity that I could not let go.

What first brought you to this particular studio?

The studio was shooting in my city, Málaga, and I knew the team already. I just moved back to Spain after being 10 years abroad and I got offered the opportunity to join the team.

How did this lead to you being head of the studio?

There were some changes and I partnered up with who today is my business partner and almost a member of my family, Raúl, who was a cameraman back then. It’s been an amazing journey.

Could you tell us about your partnership with your director?

We work as one, we are in constant communication. We know exactly what to do and when in order to get the productions going and, after one year of hard work, we flow really smoothly. I think we are the best team in the industry!

Do you both have a filmmaking process? Could you take us through it?

Yes we do, it all starts with the story creation, then we decide the locations, then the models we believe are the right ones for those roles and, once we have all that, we develop the scripts and get it all together.

How do you create the best sex on film?

Well, it all comes down to the chemistry between the models, we can tell them what positions we would like them to do, but what makes it a great sex moment is the chemistry.

How do you describe the MenAtPlay brand? How is it unique?

The studio is unique and it has been since the beginning of times. MenAtPlay is all about power, elegance, being exclusive, and looking sharp. It all works around the man in a suit and what it all represents. Nobody does it like we do.

What are your thoughts on the ongoing competition between the studios and the Only Fans and content creator platforms?

I believe there is room for everyone and everything. It is true that back when there wasn't social media and the models were “less accessible” there was more of a mystery to it, now it is all more reachable and that is what makes Onlyfans great, the fans have closer access to their preferred performers but studio porn elevates them. Everything is more elaborated and gives the performers more protection. During the pandemic, there was more competition than it is nowadays.

What advice do you have for performers who want to join the industry and more specifically the MenAtPlay brand?

I would tell them to be 100% sure of what they want to do. This is a job and it takes a good work ethic and professionalism. Regarding joining MenAtPlay, I would recommend doing some research before to become familiar with what we do and what is our brand, and let us know if they think they can fit the mold.

Could you share with us a little about yourself? Who is Alvaro? Interests? Hobbies? Beliefs?

I am an introvert/extrovert who loves to talk and laugh but also loves to be at home just with my partner and my 3 rabbits. I love plants and gardening and I spend most of my free time playing with my plants outside, changing pots, reproducing plants that I like, and enjoying with my loved ones.
