Horror Movies Streaming This Month & Our Gay Take On Them

Halloween means horror movies. That time of year we like to butch it up and scare the bejeezus out of ourselves, hopefully clinging to a strapping hot gay for support. Want to know what movies are streaming on what platforms on TV for this month? We got you. And we've added our gay choices and comments as well. See get out those free trials of Netflix, get those pumpkin spice martinis going, and invite the guys over for a spooky viewing. Who knows where the night will end?

Ok, there's a lot to choose here to fulfill all of your gay hearts. First of all, Christian Bale's working out in underwear scenes are just enough to make us sit through the gore of American Psycho. He can murder our hole any day. And of course, Child's Play 2 and 3 are just terrible enough to add a drinking game. That little doll somehow appeals to our gay senses, most of us don't like children either but we still like to dress up in bright colors. For those who are truly scaredy cats and like cheezy horror films, Tarot and Ouija: Origin of Evil are just bad enough to keep you laughing and shuddering at the same time. Again, we recommend drinking games for those.

Ok, to be honest, this list is pretty tame. Anyone can sit through most of these movies and not have a heart attack. While we love the Alien franchise, we don't really think they fall under Halloween horror films. Some of these are more psychological thrillers. If you like classic psycho, go with The Omen. Hellraiser and The Hills Have Eyes are going to satisfy the gore-seekers. US is very creepy and is worth a watch. If you like a bit of cheesy and some sexy actors to look at, the Fantasy Island horror version is at times laughable, but in a good way, and there are some hot guys. That would be a fun, drinking game crowd-pleaser.

Ok, this list is probably our favorite as it covers a lot of ground and styles. The original Exorcist still gives us nightmares and it isn't just scary to watch, it plays with your head. Not that one, the other one. Max has all the great classics that everyone should see at least once. From Poltergeist (that uses actual human skeletons), Night of the Living Dead, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Shining, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre to modern classics like Scream, this is a very good list for any cinephile. For a total mindfuck over gore, you have to watch Hereditary. If you want to be all pro-LGBTQ themes, watch Freaky, it has Vince Vaughn kissing a boy and deals with gender identity and queer themes...but, it's not the scary.

This list is the ultimate drinking game for cheesy horror films that we love. If you haven't seen Drag Me To Hell add it immediately. It's overly ridiculous and gorey, but in a fun way. It also has a trick ending and it also features our crush Justin Long. Other "so bad they are good" movies would be Leprechaun (featuring a young Jennifer Aniston) and Leprechaun 2 and cult favorite Jennifer's Body. And, of course, our gay hearts skip a bit with The Craft. For those wanting a real scare, you can't go wrong with the original Saw movie. Candyman is also a cult classic from the deranged mind of Clive Barker.

For those of us gays who are too cheap to pay for streaming. Free service Tubi has a surprising amount of some of the tried and true classics. We've mentioned many of these in the other lists, but we have to give a shout-out to two super gay films - Interview with the Vampire (with a blonde Tom Cruise and a homoerotic Brad Pitt) and The Babadook. The Babadook has inexplicably become a gay icon because of his fancy outfit - he's a scary dandy!
