Drooling Over Bridgerton's New Queer Actor James Phoon

For all you Bridgerton fans out there, we got you! The show has continued to thrill, titillate, scandalize, and keep us coming back for more. Having its debut on Christmas Day in 2020, Bridgerton is a historical romance drama based in the early 1800s in an alternative London Regency era. The show is based on the book series written by Julia Quinn, it is also Shonda Rhimes' first scripted show for Netflix. Not shying away from skin and including plenty of diversity, the show has become a hit. It is more than a guilty pleasure as the storylines and variation make it a great show more than just for all the sex scenes. There are plenty of hunks included in the show - did you check out our reveal of all our favorite male skin? For the first two seasons, our queer eyes have been on the hotter-than-hot Jonathan Bailey. Well, the third season has certainly changed things up and has given us our new gay Bridgerton actor, hottie James Phoon.

Phoon plays Harry Dankworth, the handsomely lesser-than-bright new husband of Prudence Featherington. We don't mind him being a bit goofy, we like them that way. His casting in the series is a boon for representation. He is of East-Asian heritage and is playing a straight character, showing the journey Hollywood continues to take in casting evolution.

Phoon was born in Brighton, England, and started his acting career doing theatre and made his professional debut in 2015 in a production of Lord of the Flies. He went on to appear in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and Peter Pan. Yes, he can do fantasy. Yes, he can be in our fantasies.

He's been proud and out and in 2020 he mentioned a boyfriend in an interview. No recon on whether they are still together or if he is dating anyone.
