Fur Flies When Furries Hack Far-Right Media Outlet

NEWS & GOSSIP

Gay furry news graphic with pride colored fur

As reported by PinkNews and others, a group known as SiegedSec (sieged security) has hacked the database of Real America's Voice, a far-right media outlet that has been home to Steve Bannon, Charlie Kirk, and others of their ilk. You know the type, spewing COVID-19 conspiracies, election deniers, and the miasma of QAnon stupidity. Oh, and MAGA news to "real people all across America." But it's the transphobia that SiegedSec is really going after. The data breach is said to have released the user information of 1200 users, including names, phone numbers, and emails. Bannon, Kirk, and even self-indulgent and completely irrelevant aging rocker Ted Nugent were among the ones affected.

Aw, poor kitties.

The release of data, known as doxxing, is a practice used by activists on the left and right as revenge tactics, intimidation, retribution, or to highlight a stance or compelling situation. It has led to lost jobs and personal upheaval. (But on a personal note, that's usually when those being doxxed have committed atrocious actions in public and are usually suffered by those on the fringe right, so yer boy Hank here isn't crying any tears for them.) The practice harkens back to the days of outting, when members of the LGBTQ+ communities were exposed by anti-AIDS and homophobic media. Outting as a term, though, was more often used by gay media members to expose homophobic and closeted members of the clergy and politicians who actively worked against the benefit of the community. Because turnaround is fair play.

As the above-posted YouTuber states, this isn't the first SiegeSec data breach in their ongoing #OpTransRights campaign. Municipal entities in five states were the object of their ire for the anti-trans legislation enacted or introduced in those areas. And earlier this month they hacked the River Valley Church in Burnsville, Minnesota for their pastor's anti-trans social posts and views. In particular, the X post you see below was particularly irksome to the frolicking furries.

Oh, and besides releasing the information, including prayer requests, of thousands of the church's members, they spent thousands of the church's money to order inflatable sea lions. Just, you know...because.

In response to criticism of their actions, the group writes:

“Throughout our attacks on transphobic entities, we have received concerns that our attacks will be used to label the LGBTQ+ community as ‘terrorists’ and ‘criminals,’” the group wrote in their Telegram message. “[T]he thing is, these types of people will blame the LGBTQ+ community regardless of what we do. they will look for a reason to hate, they won’t listen to reason, they want to spread lies to shun people different than them.”
