Our Comprehensive List of Sexualities Part 1

For some of us from the past, when you came out there was being straight, or coming out as bisexual that was really just a stepping stone to becoming a full-blown gay. Gay, straight, bi...those were your choices. Now, over the last decade, there have been many additions to not only the LGBT alphabet but to other sexual identities as well. The plus side is that now everyone pretty much can go with their own flow without having to conform to a set group or label. On the other hand, there are so many new terms out there that sometimes we are like, huh, what? So, we've put a list together of some sexual terms that are new to us, and maybe you, to expand your sexual identity dictionary. These terms are used as both romantic and/or actual sex designations.

Abrosexual

An abrosexual is someone whose sexuality is all over the place, is totally fluid, and can change at a moment's notice. There's really no rule book here, and this type of sexual identity can go through cycles randomly, or regularly.

Androsexual

An androsexual is attracted to the more masculine end of the gender spectrum. This can include attraction to a cisgender man with masculine traits, or someone of any gender or non-binary identity who displays masculine traits.

Asexual

Most of us know this sexuality. Literally, this person is not sexually attracted to anyone.

Autosexual 

Being an autosexual sounds a bit more egotistical than it really is. It literally means you want to have sex with yourself, or that you think about yourself to climax, or that you'd rather have sex with yourself than anyone else.

Ceterosexual

This term is a hot topic. It is considered inappropriate to use this word anymore. This person is attracted to people who are trans or non-binary.

Cupiosexual

This one is an interesting one. This is in the asexual realm, somewhat. A cupiosexual person can experience pleasure from having sex, and will have sex, but has no attraction to anyone. They enjoy sex just for the act but don't feel anything for their bed partner. This could be my ex. LOL.

Demisexual

A demisexual is also in the asexual realm. A demisexual only feels sexual attraction to someone after they have established an emotional bond.

Greysexual

A greysexual is slightly hornier than an asexual. This sexual identity will rarely feel, but will, sexual on a rare basis. This may only happen a few times in their lives. This can refer to both romantic and sexual attraction.

Gynesexual

This is the opposite of an androsexual. This is a person who is attracted to feminine qualities in anyone - cis women or trans or non-binary or men.

Hetero/Homoflexible 

This is someone who identifies mainly as hetero or homo, but is open to sexual activity with the same or opposite sex. This is not being bi. They are flexible to it, but it isn't their usual.
