I’m your Gay News Guy – this is the news, casual, sassy, unfiltered, and a little tipsy. Ok here’s today’s MOVIE news as I see it!

Ok…so I saw The Hunger Games prequel on Thanksgiving morning and it was…fantastic! With the longest running time of any Hunger Games movie at 2 hours and 38 minutes, it went by in a flash. It was dark, it was intense, it was action-packed, and it was great. It had all the texture of The Hunger Games films, but a totally different take on the storyline. LOVED IT. For the gays, it wasn’t very heavy on hot guys. But, for the gays, it had plenty of music and sassiness. Am I the only one with a nerd crush on Jason Schwartzman? I highly recommend seeing it.

Reviews have come in for Ridley Scott’s Napolean with Joaquin Phoenix as well as Disney’s Wish. Both have less than stellar reviews, with Napolean being ripped apart for being a boring mess except for the battle (CGI) sequences. Wish is said to be lackluster, lacking the charm and magic from usual Disney films.

Hocus Pocus 3 is moving forward. Everyone wants to know if Ted Lasso’s Hannah Waddingham will return as Mother Witch. Fans want her back and to give her a song! Hannah has had quite the year with her Christmas musical show dominating AppleTV and with roles in some major upcoming films. She’s on fire, and we are here for it. Jason Sudeikis is like, what about me????

Rumors are circling that Taylor Swift will be in the Deadpool 3 film. The billionaire singer was spotted with the Deadpool 3 director and crew, and no one is denying the rumors. Can’t she leave anything alone???

The Scream franchise is in danger!!! Melissa Barrera was fired from the franchise for making political statements via social media. Jenna Ortega was said to have quit in solidarity with Melissa but now it is being stated that she is leaving the franchise so she can film the next season of Wednesday. Hmmm…SO, guess who’s being rumored to return? Neve Campbell! They better show her the money!

Ultra hottie Nicholas Hoult will be shaving his locks and moving from X-Men to DCU to play Lex Luthor in the latest Superman reboot (how many goddamn Supermans do we need?). Let’s hope this reboot gives Lex plenty of shirtless and gay sex scenes. It could happen! LOL

Sorry, Nightmare Before Christmas fans! Fans are clamoring for a Nightmare Before Christmas sequel or prequel but Tim Burton just said nope and since he owns all the rights to it, it won’t happen. He says the film is great as it is and shouldn’t be meddled with. It is truly a movie that ages well, and I agree it should be left as a stand-alone.

Margot Robbie kind of put talk of Barbie 2 to rest. She says they gave it all for Barbie and hadn’t planned on any other films, nor does she know what kind of story would happen in the sequel. Mattel is probably pushing for more since the first film was such a success, although they are busy with their planned Barney movie that’s supposed to be an adult take on the childhood dinosaur.

Daisy Ridley has seen the script for her next Star Wars movie, saying it’s not what she expected but she’s very excited. That’s intriguing. Everyone assumes her films will center around her starting a new Jedi Order. It was also announced that there is a Mandalorian film in the works too.

Frozen 3 and 4 are being produced side by side to be released one after the other. But why?

There’s a new Karate Kid movie in the works and will feature the original stars as well as characters from the 2010 remake. There’s a casting call being conducted to find the new “Kid.”

Sorry, gays! Disney’s plans to release The Bikeriders, featuring the incredibly hot duo of Tom Hardy and Austin Butler in leather gear riding hogs, have been dropped. The film is looking for a new distributor and will likely miss the timeline to make it to this year’s Academy Awards lineup. Damnnnn, I want to see those two hotties share a screen…if not more.
