Hello, it’s time for a brand-new Go-Go Boy Spotlight!! This is where I interview a sexy go-go boy that you need to know about! This week I’m introducing you to the sexy and talented Pharaoh from Sacramento! You can catch Pharaoh dancing at venues all over Northern California! Pharaoh is both a talented dancer and writer! How did you get your name:

It was my IG name for a while and a nickname. So I thought I would go with it!

When did you start go-go dancing and what got you into it:

I started in August 2022. I was barbacking for another gay club in Sacramento. I hated barbacking but needed the money because I recently lost my day job to a racist CEO. I would see the go-go dancers dancing on Friday nights doing a two-step and making quick cash, and I thought to myself, “I can dance way better! And I would definitely make more money!” I heard the gay club across the street from my bar was auditioning. I auditioned, and the rest is history.

Favorite styles of music and artists to dance to:

I’m a sucker for early 2000s Rap, Hip-Hop, and Crunk music! Some of my favorite artists to dance to are Rihanna, Megan Thee Stallion, and Sean Paul.

Venues & parties you dance at:

I dance at Badlands in Sacramento; they’re my resident bar. I also dance at The Cafe in SF & Port Bar in Oakland. For parties, I dance for GoodVibez!

Favorite thing to wear while dancing:

A cowboy hat. It’s become my trademark. I just feel like it brings out my inner Megan Thee Stallion “Hot Girl” when I wear it.

What's your favorite part of your body:

These yams! My legs and ass. I know that's two body parts, but how are my legs set up? You can’t just have one or the other; it's a combo meal over here, baby.

Your signature dance move:

Have you ever hooked up with a club patron:

No, I have not.

Have you ever hooked up with another dancer:

No, and I’m actually proud to say I haven't. That was a boundary I made for myself when I started go-go dancing that I wouldn’t sleep with another dancer. No offense to anyone who has, though. Get yo’ nut! But for me? I didn’t want my reputation to be that I "got around." I wanted my reputation to be known for my dancing. But once I’m done dancing? Oh, there are a few dancers I’ll be hitting up! *winks*

Your biggest pet peeve when people are tipping you:

My biggest pet peeve is when people wave their dollar at me and expect me to “earn” it by dancing for them or doing some sexy move. It irritates my soul, especially when the person is white! I’m not some dancing monkey for you! This isn’t a minstrel show! Just give me the damn dollar, or don’t, and keep it pushing.

Your biggest pet peeve about working with other go-go boys:

I actually don’t have any. I get along with most of the go-go dancers I work with very well.

What advice would you give to a new go-go dancer:

Please set boundaries for yourself and others. Boundaries will help ensure no one manipulates or abuses you. For example, a boundary of mine is that I will not sleep with anyone to get ahead, nor will I allow any sexual harassment from anyone. Commit to your boundaries and be courageous enough to express when a boundary is crossed. You come first!

Favorite thing about being a go-go boy:

The money, duh! But I also love entertaining people and making experiences for people at the club. I love it when someone remembers me and tells me how I made them feel or expresses how I improved their club experience.

What do you like to do when you’re not go-go dancing:

I love to write. I’m actually writing a book right now, and I’m almost done. It brings me joy. So when I’m not dancing, you’ll find me with my Clark Kent glasses in a corner at a bookstore, huddled over my laptop, writing my book.

What do you love about the city you live in:

There’s so much I love about Sacramento! (That was sarcasm.) Sacramento is okay, but the one thing I will say I love about Sacramento is its quietness. Not much goes on in Sacramento, which can be a good or bad thing, depending on how you see it, but I enjoy the quiet.

Writing poetry (I’m a published poet), watching anime, skating, hiking, working out, eating at new vegan restaurants, and hanging out with my close friends and family.

Your hidden talent:

I’m an excellent cartoonist! It’s just a hobby/meditation for me. I love to draw, but not too many people know about it.

Perfect romantic date:

My perfect romantic date would be a fine, handsome man inviting me over to his place and him cooking a delicious vegan meal as we talk and laugh. Then, after eating, we sit and have a deep, stimulating conversation where we bond and get to know each other on a deeper level. He kisses me goodnight, and then he texts me, a few minutes later, that he enjoyed himself with me and would like to plan another date.
