RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 8 Recap: Episode 9, Carson Kressley, This Is Your Gay Life

Hi friends! I’m back with another RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars recap! Another week has passed, and we are so close to crowning a winner! Last week the queens were tasked with creating an original look inspired by a previous All Stars winner! Alexis Michelle was the top All Star of the week and won the lip sync against the super secret lip sync assassin, Nicky Doll! In a gag-worthy turn of events, Alexis chose to send Lala Ri home! Just last week when Alexis was in the bottom, she told Lala Ri that she’d save her if the tables were turned. Lies, Mary! Lies! The drama is lovely this season, so let’s get right into this new episode!

The queens have entered the werk room after Lala’s elimination, and Alexis is so proud of herself! I don’t think the other girls knew about her deal with Lala, because it happened in a private moment. It’s time to count the lipsticks! It appears that everyone voted for Lala, with Lala’s vote being the only vote for Kandy. So it didn’t really matter how the lip sync went, Lala was going home. Jimbo confronts Alexis about saying she wouldn’t send Lala home! Alexis swerved the question so fiercely. But now it seems like she has a deal with Kandy. The girls are playing dirty! I love it! It’s a new day in the werk room! The top four queens come prancing in feeling refreshed and recharged! RuPaul enters the werk room in a pussy bow top, and tells the queens that for this week’s maxi challenge they will be reading Carson Kressley for filth in a roast! They will workshop their jokes with Michelle Visage and Alec Mapa! Since Alexis Michelle won last week’s maxi challenge, she gets to decide the order! Alexis decides to open the show! After her will be Jessica, Kandy, and Jimbo to close the show.

We have to talk about the moment when Katya came running into the werk room in her long, knit dress and clunky boots. She is here to ask hard-hitting questions! Katya asks them who they’d have sex with from the competition. And offers some overall advice for this challenge. I’m not really sure why she showed up to be honest. But I love her! It doesn’t matter what she was there to do, she made great TV.

Let’s talk about the roast! Alexis opened the show, and she looks incredible! Her jokes were great too! I was pleasantly surprised, considering she was eliminated during the roast challenge on her season. Jessica Wild was next! Her look was my least favorite of the night. She also got some chuckles too! She’s the kind of queen who is naturally funny and likable, and she uses it to her advantage! Next up was Kandy Muse! She won the roast challenge on her season, so she was feeling the pressure. But she delivered! And she looked great! Jimbo closed the show as Joan Rivers! I was a little confused by the outfit choice. It didn’t look like something Joan would have worn. She was known for her black pants and statement jacket/necklace combo. I’m guessing it was the end of the season and the girls were running out of clothes. But her roast was incredible! Once again Jimbo has slayed a comedy challenge!

Let’s talk about the runway! This week, the category is: Snow Bunny! Alexis Michelle looked so beautiful in this blue jumpsuit. And her hair was amazing as always! Jessica Wild wore a darker blue jumpsuit with a matching duster. It wasn’t my favorite of the night. Kandy came out next in a stoned bra and corset with a white fur coat. She looked so good! Jimbo came out last in a white feathered gown with a center slit. I liked it more than Jessica’s look, but it was not my favorite. I think Kandy and Alexis have the top runway looks this week.

We’ve reached the point in the competition where if you are not the top All Star of the week, you are up for elimination! This is stressful! Jimbo is the top All Star of the week! She now must choose the queen she thinks should go home. Jimbo put on her white clown outfit to lip sync against the super secret lip sync assassin who is Ruvealed to be… Silky Nutmeg Ganache! They lip sync to “Freak-A-Zoid” by Midnight Star. This lip sync was wild and unhinged. I loved it! In a twist of fate, Jimbo wins the lip sync! Now she gets to reveal the lipstick of the queen she has chosen to get the chop. And that queen is… Alexis Michelle! I’m so sad to see her go, but it was her time.

That was such a great episode! Next week is finally the makeover challenge! It’s going to be a hoot! So come back and see what happens!
