Hey gurl! It’s a brand new week, and that means there’s a brand new episode of Hey Gurl! With Jordan Jayro! This week’s guest is someone very special! I finally sat down for a chat with my friend Noel! Noel is one of my favorite people on the planet! He’s an incredible dancer and the current reigning Mr. Southern California Continental! We’ve known each other for a while, and I’m ashamed of how long it took for me to get him on the podcast. Noel is stunning and sweet and honestly one of the funniest people I know. I know you’re going to love him!

My moment before this week was all about water. I can openly admit that I was having a bit of a Delta Work moment. Here’s the thing: I love water. I only drink water. So when I go to a fast food restaurant, I order iced water with my meal. I just want the regular fountain drink that comes with the meal but with water in it. And I don’t mind paying for it! Even though I know it’s usually included in the price anyway. But what I find is that certain places will try to upsell me a water bottle, which is less water and comes with an extra fee. Or worse, they’ll agree to give me ice water, but it’s what they call a “water cup” which is actually just a tiny cup with ice and water. A double shot of water! And the price of the meal is still the same! So give me a regular drink and put water in it! I will pay for the fountain drink!

Noel and I first met because he was on Vanjie: 24 Hours Of Love. I got to go to the premiere party and interview the boys on the show, so me and Noel officially met on-camera. After that, we kept in touch and somehow ended up hanging out regularly. Throughout this episode, we talked about so many things! Neither of us has a very long attention span so it’s all over the place. We talked about how Noel owned a dance studio and recently sold it. And how he studied Dance and Sociology at Chapman University. I had to devote some time to Noel’s Continental journey. I was lucky to be able to come with him to San Diego for his prelim, and we had so much fun!

I did make sure to confront Noel about his buzz cut in the early 2000s. I just wanted to know why. Be sure to listen to the full episode to get the full tea on that time in his life. We talked about food and dieting, and also why Noel always has to pee everywhere he goes. After recording this episode we had plans to go out and socialize, with the intention of getting food after. So we spent a sizable portion of this episode trying to figure out what to eat. Plot twist: we ended up leaving the bar so late that we didn’t get food. We had a great time though!
