Morgxn Thicke Talks Sex Work, OnlyFans, & Being Non-Binary in Gay Porn

Rapidly rising star Morgxn Thicke has actually been in the OnlyFans scene for a few years now but only started in studio work late last year. It was the right decision since Morgxn is now working for major studios (such as Raging Stallion!) and with some of the top stars. Nobody is more surprised by this sudden stardom than Morgxn, who humbly said they never planned to venture into studio work. In a ground-breaking first for the industry, Morgxn recently shared that they identify as non-binary, making them one of the first and most successful non-binary performers in gay porn. In the interview below, Morgxn discusses their unexpected success and living their truth.

What inspired you to join the adult industry?

I got into the adult industry in the fall of 2019, when the era of OnlyFans was gaining attention and popularity. Years before that, I considered doing studio work several times in my 20s, because I always found the act of being watched during sex highly arousing. I never actually went through with doing studio work though, due to some preconceived notions about the porn industry. I also didn't find the appeal of everything that goes into making a studio scene. Which is why OnlyFans seemed so appealing. I could make porn on my terms with people I had a real connection with. I call it my Julia Roberts era: "I say who I say how much...I SAY WHO".  So in late October 2019, my husband decided to continue his education and pursue a career in nursing, and we decided the extra income would allow him to focus on that full-time. I did end up doing studio work in 2022, and it hasn't been bad at all. I wasn't wrong about it being a lot of work, but I've been fortunate enough to work with some great studios and have stellar directors and co-stars.

Tell us about your beginning in the industry. How did it happen? What was it like?

In the beginning, I never really anticipated gaining any sort of notable income, only enough to help with gas and a couple of utility bills. I knew nothing about being a content creator, my social media presence was non-existent (no Twitter account and maybe 800 Instagram followers), and I had no idea how much work would actually be required in order to achieve and maintain a platform. The first nude post to Twitter was probably the most nerve-racking thing. In my mind I was announcing to the world I was a sex worker and then also asking them to judge me naked. Granted, at that point, I had been told by several past sexual partners and my then-fiance that I had nothing to worry about. Still, I wanted the risk of having a scarlet letter to reap the monetary reward I had heard others having. It did. Come to find out having a decent dick and a beard with some muscles sprinkled in was a delicious recipe for success. I wouldn't say all my interactions with other performers have been "the best" but I have managed to meet some beautiful humans. From the very beginning, I wanted to create porn that was passionate and intimate which required some level of chemistry with other creators I was filming with.

You identify as non-binary. Could you take us through how and when you came to this realization?

I am fortunate enough to be living in a time where a lot of progress and activism has paved the way for myself and others to live a more expressive life. I’m not the first person to wear nail polish or blur the lines of gender, and I won’t be the last.

I've constructed the persona Morgxn Thicke to be a relatively accurate representation of who I am. I think subconsciously I used the veil of Morgxn Thicke in order to allow myself to explore my gender nonconformity.

I've always had a visceral reaction to hypermasculine men, the alpha male. I knew that was not who I was, despite being told from the point I had body hair I was the definition of what it meant to be a man. The facial hair, the body hair, and the body. It all felt very reductive to me. From a very early age, I remember wearing my mom's high heels and lingerie when she was at work. I remember always wanting to have my nails painted and to have long hair and wear make up. Growing up in a small Midwestern town in the 1990s, gender norms were very cut and dry, let alone feeling like I needed to hide my attraction to men. I don’t negate the toxicity of the environment from which I came. I am more-so redefining it to how I want to express it. I don’t see a difference between what is considered masculine vs. feminine. The line has always been blurred when I look at myself in the mirror and how I am in life.

It wasn't until I finally did the Red Dress Party in 2018 where I painted my nails and wore some Amazon slip dress that I truly felt like I was expressing myself in a very authentic way. I am still exploring my gender identity, but I definitely notice a genuine high in my overall  sense of self when expressing myself through painting my nails, wearing makeup, and wearing skirts/dresses or high heels. I've also had some resistance to it in combination with doing sex work. Traditionally speaking, porn hasn’t been the most progressive with regard to the continuation of archaic heteronormative gender constructs. The general consensus has been that because I look the way I do, I should stick to embodying the standard of masculinity. Where I can see how it makes sense in casting the widest net with regards to porn being easily digestible in order to achieve the most profit. However, I've done pretty well so far, so let's see where it will take me. Granted, I recognize my biases as a cis white individual, but I think it’s also necessary for people that look like me to deconstruct gender norms rather than perpetuate them because it’s easier.

How does this identity play into your growing presence within gay male porn?

My intent when I first started doing sex work was to work towards deconstructing this false narrative of masculinity we've been conditioned to believe. I wear nail polish/makeup/skirts/ lingerie and I have facial hair, body hair, and a muscular framed body. All of these things can exist in the same individual without the world ending. I consider myself more of a passive lover, where my enjoyment from sex is derived through the pleasure of the individual(s) I’m fucking being turned on. If I know I’m turning someone else on, the sensation becomes euphoric.

Could you tell us about your relationship with pornography? Any favorites? Influences? Dream scene partners?

My relationship with sex work is it is very much work. I've always been drawn to more amateur-style porn when compared to studio porn.

I've been very fortunate in working with every one of the individuals during my time as an OnlyFans creator. I love the opportunity to meet and interact with new individuals. I think each experience is unique in its own right and ultimately it's an opportunity for me to learn how to grow in sex work and develop more evolved content for the fans. I'd love to go somewhere overseas and explore those venues and see who I potentially align with in terms of sexual chemistry. As I get older, I can't say I want a scene with any specific person, but I do welcome the opportunity to see who I may connect with on a professionally intimate level and what adventures we find ourselves on.

I’d have to say a lot of my influences come from music: Freddy Mercury, Boy George, Florence Welch, and David Bowie.

Share with us who you are outside of performing. Who is the person behind Morgxn Thicke? Hobbies? Interests?

Over the past few years, I've had little time to have a social life outside of work. My home life also keeps me pretty busy with my husband and two dogs. I do try to have an occasional day where I binge TV and eat ice cream and pizza.

Largely, I enjoy relaxing on the beach. Whether that's playing with my 2 dogs or listening to various podcasts. I find staring out into the ocean calming. It is grounding to stare out into something so vast and offers so much unknown.

What are some of your future plans and ambitions in the business and beyond?

Regarding sex work, I want to keep riding this ride while I still have the motivation and desire to do so. My husband is no longer in school so the pressure to perform to a level that meets a monetary standard is no longer there. I am now free to explore and express myself sexually in ways to expand on cookie-cutter hotel room scenarios.

Outside of sex work, I am planning to go back and finish my graduate degree in Psychology. I know not a lot of people outside of sex work believe we, as sex workers, aspire to be anything other than objects for sexual stimulation. Sex work has a shelf life and unless I find a way to transition into a broader facet of sex work, like starting an inclusive gender queer porn studio, I'd like to make my exit with grace and elegance.

What is your favorite thing about sex?

I love the journey that is sex. The anticipation leading up to the first kiss. The exploration of sensation and reactivity. What are someone's hot spots and what makes their toes curl? I love that exchange of energy and the different dynamics one can experience during sex. For me, sex is an opportunity to be vulnerable, allowing someone to engage and experience various shared desires. I love going on that journey.

How do you define a true "porn star" and how are you going to be one?

Being a true "porn star" is so much more than just whipping your dick out and getting hard. It is about creating a fantasy that viewers find enticing and also believing. For me, creating good porn means connecting with first your scene partner and then the camera on an intimate level so that viewers can't help but feel aroused by what they are seeing. I don't consider myself a "star," just someone who makes porn that I would want to see. No one is recognizing me outside of Twitter/Instagram in the real world. Even if someone did recognize me as I was picking up eggs and milk at the grocery store, I still wouldn't think of myself as any different. I am just someone who gets paid for what most people do for free.
