Nightlife Entertainer Clark Davis Talks Love, CockyBoys, Living With HIV, And More

PORN GALLERIES

Gay porn stat Clark Davis shirtless interview.

Most porn guys typically stay on my screen, however, this one jumped out into my real life and I am proud to call him my friend. He is a triple threat with his bangin’ body, intelligence, and endearing personality. He even has a sexy husband that also does porn! He not only can get you off, but he can even get you fit as he is also a personal trainer. He is Clark Davis, and he's here to talk about love, sex work, living with HIV, and his love for dancing.

Tell me and the readers, who is Clark Davis?

Also known as Coach Chris or SpiderwebRoses, Clark is a man of many hats. First and foremost, I’m queer because right now we need as much visibility and queer excellence as possible. I’m always supporting my fellow queer artists. Three to six nights a week I’m a dancer or aerialist all around West Hollywood. I’m a classically trained Latin dancer and vocalist as well as having been brought up in band and orchestra. In my first career, I was a chef/cook for 7 years before I got into fitness and eventually adult film. Any job I do, at its core, is always to be of service to people. The one thing I want to accomplish in life is to educate, support, or entertain people.

When did you start doing porn and how did you get into the industry?

Just like anyone else in the industry, I was not 7 years old and told myself, “When I grow up, I wanna fuck for a living!” It was a true last-ditch effort to get out of debt. A lot of people I was acquainted with at the time would joke, “I’m gonna call it quits and be a stripper”, “I’m gonna be a hooker,” or something like that. And with being autistic, I never understood jokes, tone, or sarcasm very well. So I thought to myself as I looked at my bank account every day and came up with, “Well everyone else is doing it…” So I applied to the CockyBoys site and it was nerve-wracking at first, but I sent the pictures and did a phone call and video call and scheduled my first shoot with Taylor Reign and that turned into an exclusive contract with them. After that first year ended, I went solo and continued to work that way for the next couple of years.

Tell me about your favorite scene you've filmed and what makes it special.
Any good scene has chemistry and the best scene I’ve had was with Chris Loan because even though his English was very limited, we were able to connect intimately and it showed on camera. But my no. 1 favorite was when I worked with my now-husband, then-boyfriend for Icon Male feature Dad’s Poker Night. It was Nick’s and my first time where I bottomed. In my relationship, I’ve always been primarily the top, but we wanted to do something special and cool for the viewers and fans. I still have the still-shots as memorabilia.

Your husband Nick Fitt also does porn, that's a dynamic duo, what's it like being married to another adult entertainer?

Well just like any relationship or marriage; open, honest, and compassionate communication is paramount. We have always voiced if we are comfortable or not or if travel is an issue. There’s just family-esque concerns, never jealousy. … Honestly, we have enough great sex for that to be a concern. *laughs*

You're also a go-go dancer, do you ever get recognized as Clark Davis when you're dancing?

Go-go dancing has become such a passion of mine. I’ve been in queer nightlife for 11 or 12 years in either Long Island/Fire Island, NYC, Buffalo, and surrounding western NY cities, and now West Hollywood. I’ve booked downtown LA and OC as well and truthfully, not a lot of people recognize me. When it does, I give a hug because it means a lot.

What is a positive impact porn has made on your life?

Sexwork and sexualizing yourself can take a lot of opportunities away from you. It will affect your love life, your professional life, and maybe your family relationships. Without porn, I would not have met my husband, I would not have moved to California, and I wouldn’t have met the amazing people I have grown to love and respect.

What are some of your favorite things to do in your free time, any hobbies?

I sing and dance a lot, and fitness and exercise are very important to me and my lifestyle. I also do a lot of screaming and shouting on my soapbox about autism, trans rights, drag queens practicing their first amendment rights to perform, HIV/AIDS topics in sexwork and sex/love, and the disappearing of queer spaces due to an infiltration of a larger straight crowd. As a queer person, the same as a Hispanic person, I want to surround myself with people like me. I want to listen to salsa and bachata music and dance, and eat rice and beans on a Sunday evening. I also want to be able to go to a queer space with queer people and not have to worry about being ostracized. Unfortunately, even on the box, we gay boys and other queer performers often feel the uncomfortable looks and circus act-treatment. Tips are down because of a prevalent non-queer audience. Non-queer have smacked me, licked, bit me, tried to take my penis out as a joke, and have tried tantalizing me by waving a single dollar at me while backing away as if I’m a puppy begging for treats. The reason why I stay in it is because if I stop and other queer performers stop, we are saying goodbye to our queer spaces. It’s similar to the Stonewall drag queens in the ‘60s. Do you expect us to just disappear? In short, I spend my free time continuing the conversation to protect queer spaces and I won’t be silenced.

You're amidst a comeback to the industry, why did you step away in the first place?

Sexwork isn’t for everyone, we are humans and we have limits. I wasn’t at the place to accept how objectified I will always be as long as I look the way I look and stay unclothed. With that said, yes, I’ve gotten to a much stronger and healthier place where I now use how people see me and control the situation. When I perform, oftentimes I control the room. I grab attention and though some nights I don’t make a lot of money, I know I do the damn thing and I know that I’m a star. No one gave that to me and no one can take that away.

You've mentioned to me before that you're an HIV+ performer, how has that impacted your career?

The answer has always been absolutely yes. Ask any poz guy, let’s just say just cis-gay identifying men, “Do your sex or love interests turn you away because of your status?" We all will tell you yes. I have heard, “I don’t take prep because that will make me gay,” I have heard “Taking prep is a red flag because that means he’s a whore,” I have been called names because of my status. Now let’s include trans, gender variant, and BIPOC people, and add their struggles on top of that if they’re positive. The list of abusive and damaging commentary seems endless. Personally, I was lied to by an abusive ex who beat me up to use with him and I developed a meth addiction from him and it took me two years of therapy to finally feel like I’m in control again. In porn, it’s even nuttier. Some studios don’t work with serodiscordant pairings or HIV+ altogether. Models who do gay and straight/trans porn may be turned away from a female model because, while he’s negative, the fact that he works with men still scares them to not work with what we call “crossover” models. I won’t speak in detail, but I have been denied work for my status.

What's next for Clark Davis?

Well, I really want to take the time to say that without Cockyboys, I would not have met my husband let alone be married at all probably. RJ and Jake have given me my life. I hope one day I can tell them that. As for the future, I’m applying to finish my science degree for a future endeavor, but by that time Clark Davis will be mostly gone. I will never stop loving queer people and queer spaces and I will always continue that discussion (or argument if it gets to that point.) I plan on being a go-go, aerialist, or a lip sync performer next to queens for as long as I have healthy knees. I so appreciate all of your time with me today and I hope you did as well.

A huge thank you to Clark for allowing me the privilege to interview him and also for being so open and candid. I look forward to seeing what is next from him, however, in the meantime, you can find him dancing the night away in West Hollywood at many different nightclubs and venues.
