Jordan Jayro’s Drag Race Season 15 Recap: Episode 3, A Look at Gay Heaven

Hello and welcome BACK to another RuPaul’s Drag Race recap! Today, we’re talking about season fifteen episode three! Last week, Anetra won the first maxi challenge and invented duck walking! Irene DuBois invented water, but sadly was eliminated. I miss her already!

The episode starts with the queens reacting to Irene’s elimination. Allegedly, she left a poop in someone’s station. I hope this is true. It is then revealed that Robin Fierce and Amethyst had a romantic endeavor prior to filming. RuPaul really wants a drag race wedding!! She’s never gonna get it!!

And just like that… it’s a new day in the werk room!! I love watching them all scurry into the room in their daytime looks!! RuPaul enters the werk room and tells the queens that for this week’s maxi challenge, the queens will be acting in a religion-themed infomercial. As the winner of last week’s challenge, Anetra gets to pick the first team. She chooses Luxx, Sasha Colby, Salina Estitties, and Marcia Marcia Marcia. Because Amethyst won the lip sync last week, she gets to choose the second team. Amethyst chooses Loosey LaDuca, Aura Mayari, Spice, and Princess Poppy. Which means team three is Mistress Isabelle Brooks, Malaysia Babydoll Foxx, Jax, Robin Fierce, and Sugar. There’s no mini challenge this week, so the teams immediately begin preparing to shoot their commercials.

The first team to film their commercial is team three, also known as Team Leftovers. It is immediately a shit show. These queens did not seem to be prepared at all. And I did not like the way they silenced Sugar in the werk room. The way Jax physically moved her from her seat!!! I’d be throwing hands, bitch. Anetra’s team is next, and Sasha Colby is slaying in the role of God!! There’s Oscar buzz already!! We don’t get to see much else from their time filming. Amethyst’s team is up next, and it’s clear that they also were a hot damn mess. Both Poppy and Amethyst were struggle bus!!! You see where this is going…

Let’s talk about the runway!!! This week’s category was Metallica! I’ll be honest, I was not gagged for a lot of these looks. Too many leotards!!! I’m exhausted. Loosey LaDuca and the twins were my favorites this week! Girl, don’t sleep on Sugar and Spice! These girlies came to compete!

Anetra’s team KILLED this challenge! I screamed laughing throughout their commercial. Team Amethyst only had one memorable moment, and that was Loosey’s Dolly Parton impersonation. It was spot on!! So flawless! Team Leftovers’ commercial was, in a word… meh. Honestly, Sugar was the most memorable part! And these hoes did not listen to her ideas in the werk room.

Sasha Colby is the winner of this week’s maxi challenge!! This is her first of what I’m sure will be many challenge wins!! The bottom two queens are Amethyst (again) and Princess Poppy. They lip sync to "Ain’t No Mountain High Enough" by Diana Ross. Let me just say, there’s no way in hell that I would ever want to lip sync a Diana Ross song in front of RuPaul! She worships Diana Ross. I’d shit a pickle!

Overall, the lip sync was not bad! Princess Poppy took a more comedic approach. However, Amethyst really embodied the song, and gave us lots of Diana-isms! Amethyst wins her second consecutive lip sync, and Princess Poppy is eliminated. Is Amethyst the lip sync assassin of the season? Is that even something to brag about? I guess we’ll soon find out!
