Why Gays Love Hocus Pocus!

PORN GALLERIES

Friday marked the premiere on Disney+ of one of the most long-awaited movie sequels ever! Everybody has wanted a follow-up to the Halloween classic, family classic, and gay classic Hocus Pocus for decades now!

This story of three bitchy witches brought back from the dead after 300 years who run amock (amock, amock) for one Halloween night, trying to steal the lives of children (yes, this was a kid's movie!) has become a cultural phenomenon.

So many of the lines are now a part of the public zeitgeist.

It has a particularly strong place in the LGB TQ+ community. There’s not one Halloween party you go to in WeHo, Palm Springs, or the Greenwich Village, where you don’t see a least several dozen gay men dressed as one of the Sanderson Sisters.

Let’s have a look at why the Gays HAVE to LOVE “Hocus Pocus”

1. Bitchy Dialogue

The three witches are so fabulously evil and they show it with some fabulous lines of dialogue that are so brilliantly delivered by these great actresses. Bette Midler’s first line in the movie says it all:

2. Obsessed with being young and beautiful

The Sanderson Sisters' motivation throughout the entire movie is to steal the lives of little children so that they can stay young and beautiful forever. Hey, some vain gays can certainly relate to that level of vanity and might even be willing to do the same.

3. Desire to be loved by boys

If Winifred is your favorite Sanderson Sister, then it’s most likely Sarah is your favorite. Why? Sarah is as horny for cute men as we are! Throughout the movie, Sarah is saying “Boys will love me!” and “Hang him on a hook and let me play with him!” Relate?

4. Loving to Perform

Seeing the Divine Miss M shouting to an audience of a huge Halloween party, “my Name’s Winifred! What’s Yours?!” and then busting out into a showstopping rendition of I Put a Spell on You! has to be one of the gayest moments in movie history and not one self respecting gay can’t do that entire routine.

5. More Bitchy Dialogue!

More lines continue throughout the film, and not just from the witches, with their five minute cameo brother and sister (playing husband and wife, not creepy at all) have a wonderfully combative time with each other. When “aren’t you three broads a little old to be trick or treating?” and “Shove it, Satan!”

Fucking love this movie! The new sequel is getting mostly positive reviews, both from critics and audiences. While it may or may not stand up to the original is certainly debatable (this gay personally feels like they played it a little safe making the witches a little less outright EVIL), there’s still no denying the fabulousness of these three great actresses and how well they play these over the top characters.
