Pumping Up with AJ Sloan: Healthy Heart, Healthy Hardon

PORN GALLERIES

This week, I’d like to address a topic that is essential to a happy healthy (sex) life. We are talking about they guy that puts the “PUMP” in “PUMPING UP.” You guessed it, folks. It’s time to talk about heart health. Behind every strong hardon is an even stronger heart, and if you keep it happy and healthy you will in turn have a happy and healthy life. There are a few obvious practices to maintain good heart health, and others not so obvious. On that note, let’s get this one circulating, shall we?

Cut the f*** down on your sugar and salt intake. Time for some basic math: High level of salt in your diet = high blood pressure = increased risk of heart disease + stroke. Stop being salty. You can easily cut back on your salt intake by not adding it to your food at the table or while cooking it. Much of what you are eating already has salt in it, I promise you. That being said, check out those food labels when grocery shopping

Sugar, at the same time, leads to weight gain (shocker) which can result in high blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease. Have a sweet tooth? Try to swap out pastries and other confections with fruit.

Enough of what you shouldn’t be eating. Let’s mention something that should be going into you. Fish? Fish. Oily fish like salmon, tuna and mackerel are brimming with omega-3 fatty acids. These guys work wonders for your ticker because that greatly assist with your cholesterol levels. No fish for you? No problem. You can also find omega-3 fats in spinach, walnuts, flaxseed (and flaxseed oil), and many other non marine options. Or if for some reason you do not eat, go to Trader Joe’s and get omega-3 fatty acid capsules for next to nothing.

The next one might come as a shocker to all those cold hearted cunts out there. A study found that people who are “socially isolated” with feelings of loneliness are more likely to experience a heart attack or stroke than others with strong social networks (other than TikTok). In a Harvard Study of Adult Development, researchers discovered that people who were happiest with their relationships at the age of 50 were the healthiest at the age of 80. So stop being a bitch, Jorge (you stupid bitch).

This last one may have you checking your vision. Floss. That’s right, my halitosis prone homos. Studies have shown that there is a prominent link between gum health and heart health (talk to any Eastern medicine practitioner and they will tell you that all of the systems and parts of the bodies are connected and influence each other). As you may (hopefully ) know, flossing removes plaque from your teeth. If not removed, plaque leads to tooth decay and loss. A recent study showed that periodontal disease can increase the risk of heart disease by almost two times. So floss, goddammit.

I hope that, if anything, this has inspired you to take some time in your day to look into your own heart health. Take a moment at some point today to think of things in your life that you can adjust to keep your heart just a little happier. I promise you won’t regret it.
