Where Are They Now: Eduardo Talks About His Longevity in Porn, Becoming an A-List Hairstylist, & His Thoughts on a Comeback

The Latin Lover is a favorite of pretty much any gay man alive.  One who just seemed to check off every single box (and everything else for that matter) was Cuban muscle stud, Eduardo (singularly named, like Cher or Madonna). With a hard hairy chest, strong arms, and green-eyed babyface, Eduardo embodied many of our ultimate fantasies. If that wasn't enough (it totally is), he is also one of the sweetest guys you could ever meet.

He joined us for an interview to share his story of joining the industry with a plan, having great fun during his long tenure, and leaving on his own terms to enjoy a peaceful and successful life as a Beverly Hills hairstylist.

Would you tell us about your journey to the industry?
I was born in Cuba. When I was 19, I followed the older man I was in love with to Italy. Then at 24, I moved to the United States. I was supporting myself by washing dishes at the Smokehouse Restaurant in Burbank. One night, I was invited to a bathhouse in Silver Lake. A picture got taken of me and someone sent it into Titan Studios. I had no idea how powerful the porn industry was, but at that point, I only had a gallon of milk and a gallon of water and really needed the money. We all know what happened next.

You actually had a pretty long run in the industry, from the mid-1990s to the 2010s. How did the industry and your part in it change over that time?
I signed a contract with Titan and, from 1995 to 2001, I made my entire living from porn. During that time, I made money to bring to my mother and my family and I went to cosmetology school. I always had a plan. I moved to Boston in 2006 and came back to LA in 2009. In my day, we didn’t have pills or injections to make performing easier. We also didn’t have the internet, so porn had to be really sought out. We broke the walls for people to be who they are. Now, porn is everywhere!

What were some of your favorite scenes and scene partners?
It was always a pretty positive environment. I enjoyed Eruption with Dean Coulter. We were in Hawaii, where it was beautiful, and he is very sweet. Also Breakers with Alex Baresi. We had great chemistry. We spent the whole week together. Very playful. Though that was a three-way scene and I’m not really into orgies. I get very nervous and shy.

How do you look back on your experience overall?
It was a good experience. I have no regrets. We all exist because of sex! The only consequence is that people don't know I'm actually a very conventional, vanilla guy. I prefer romance and intimacy over just fucking.

How has your life been since leaving the industry? What have you been doing the last few years?
I've been working in a hair salon in Beverly Hills for 15 years. I am now a successful hairstylist and colorist with many A-List clients.

Do you follow the adult industry as it is today?
Not at all. I never really watched porn before and only paid attention to the people I worked with.

Would you ever consider a comeback?
No. People tell me I still look the same and could comeback if I wanted, but I already did what I did. I’m happy doing hair.

How was your salon business during the pandemic?
We lost 70% of our clientele, but we're still here and now we’re doing great!
