DRAMA: Azealia Banks Is Back And She’s Coming For Mama Ru

For some reason American rapper Azealia Banks is back on the scene. She's released some new music in the past few weeks, which seemed to garner a rather positive response from listeners (myself included), but the small bit of success has obviously gone to her head.

In a series of tweets, the 27-year-old shared that she is the root reason for Spotify's recent decision to pull RuPaul's 2016 album 'American' from its streaming service as the company looks into plagiarism claims.

According to Banks, the Emmy Award winning host of Drag Race “ripped off” the beat of her 2016 single, 'The Big Big Beat' (remember that one? Neither do I), on his track 'Call Me Mother'.

Although Spotify has yet to comment on the album's removal, they are known for a policy of removing any record from their platform when it faces investigation. RuPaul's camp has yet to comment of the situation.

This entire debacle is most likely just one of Banks' many self-started feuds just to get a little PR. Just last month Banks called out rapper Cardi B for being "caricature of a black woman," which prompted Cardi to delete her entire Instagram account.

I'm sure we can expect Mama Ru's album to be back on Spotify soon. As of right now, 'American' remains available via iTunes, Apple Music, TIDAL and Pandora.
