Hotel Room Portraits

Over the last six years, photographer Richard Renaldi has taken self-portraits with his partner in hotel rooms in places ranging from Philadelphia to Guatemala to Boise, Idaho; the result is a series that juxtaposes themes of transience and stability in photographs that are as notable for their formal qualities as for their intimacy and emotional resonance. (Saying that they also happen to be very sexy is almost besides the point; otherwise, why do you think we'd be telling you about them here?)
