Accused killer Harlow Cuadra tearfully told his side of the story in the Bryan Kochis murder case yesterday in a scene that is bound to make the Lifetime Television for Women movie riveting.
For those who don't know Cuadra is on trial for killing Cobra Video founder Kochis so that he could free pornstar Brent Corrigan from a contract. Cuadra's former lover and business partner Joeseph Kerekes already plead guilty to the murder and, on the stand today, Cuadra blamed the whole thing on Kerekes. From the Citizens Voice:
[Cuadra testified h]is partner, Joseph Kerekes, dropped him off around 7 p.m. that night, Cuadra said, and then left. Cuadra was at Kocis' Midland Drive home for about 20 minutes that evening, laughing and talking with Kocis, Cuadra said, when a "rapid knock" came at the front door.
"I never thought it would be Joe," Cuadra said.
Kerekes stormed through the door and began to fight with Kocis, before pulling out a small knife and slashing Kocis' throat, Cuadra testified.
"I'm shouting at Joe 'What are you doing? What are you doing?'" Cuadra said. "He pushed me down."
Scared, Cuadra said he ran and hid in the back seat of the rental car Kerekes had driven, as Kerekes did "something" inside the house.
Over the four hours he cried on the stand (at one point even apologizing to his mother), he said he didn't come forward about this until now because he was being controlled by Kerekes. Though the story is very plausible, it's also very convenient to say that the guy who plead guilty should take all the blame. Hopefully the trial should be over by the end of the week so that Chad Allen and Danny Pintauro can start duking it out for who get's to play Cuadra in the Lifetime Movie. The role of his mother is already being by Meredith Baxter (she's under contract).
