The new Raging Stallion Studios movie from director Ben de Leon is like nothing else out there right now, and that makes it fantastic. We might even say revolutionary.
We love the giant, sprawling epics that studios are putting out these days as much as the next homo, but "High Tops" seems to us to be on the cutting edge. First of all, the concept is a little wonky, with a cast loosely connected around hot boys wearing sneakers and smoking weed. This is just the kind of movie that holds up when when dissected into scenes for video-on-demand sites as well as on a DVD.
The real revolution though is in the casting and execution. Anchored with contract stars like Manuel De Boxer and Damien Crosse, the rest of the boys are lesser known and are more like the boys from BUTT Magazine than a big studio porn shoot. They tend to be younger, naturally hairy, heavily tattooed, and with bodies that are great but not perfect. Instead of some buffed, plucked, studs with abs of steel, they're a little bit more real and therefore attainable. It's like watching the two hottest guys in the bar fuck rather than watching the go-go boys grind against each other.
Big gold stars go to Damien Rios and Alex Eden for a fantastic coupling and De Boxer, who looks like a hot gay skate punk plucked out of an East Village hipster party and plunked down right on Tristan Jaxx's cock. The real revelation is JT Stryker. Manly without putting on an act and sexy without being pretty, we can't wait for a chance to see this new comer fuck some serious ass.
Yes, "High Tops" is more like porn for young art fags, and we can't wait to see what kind of experiment Leon is going to cook up next.
