Cast Of ‘The Full Monty’ Inadvertently Goes The Full Monty Thanks To Lighting Glitch

If you were lucky enough to be in the audience for opening night of the musical The Full Monty at the Manchester Opera House the other night, you got to witness several pieces of history. According to the Manchester Evening News (link below), a lighting glitch left the naked cast fully exposed to the audience at the show's conclusion, giving the audience quite an eyeful.

The famous final scene - where the characters go the full monty and strip naked - is meant to be cleverly lit by bright stage lights behind the actors to spare their blushes and prevent audience members seeing explicit details.

But at the red carpet launch at Manchester Opera House on Monday night, attended by a host of celebrities and VIPs, giddy theatregoers described seeing rather vivid images of the leading men’s tackle in the final scene.

No privacy patches for these intrepid actors apparently. The reason this is such big news is that the show's star, Gary Lucy, is apparently quite a big deal in the UK. The show heads on a national tour after the curtain drops on Saturday. Hopefully they'll have all the technical glitches worked out by then. Or, you know, hopefully not.
